My biggest interaction with media this week was definitely General Conference--10 hours of watching the leaders of the church speak to us is quite a lot of time! I love how many uplifting messages are packed into those 10 hours. No matter who you are, there's always something that you can relate to or that speaks to you. For me, I loved Sister Reyna Aburto's talk during the General Women's Session. I have never heard a more eloquent, poignant talk given about mental health and the emotional journey that we must go through as humans. I loved that she pointed out that although we all feel sad sometimes, if we feel sad all the time we should seek help. This is the kind of message that I wish I had heard when I was growing up! It took me far too long to understand my emotions, and I'm still not always great at processing my feelings and understanding what I'm thinking. I feel like having a talk like this might have helped significantly, and I hope it helps lots of those who were listening. It definitely helped me!
I loved women's conference too! Elder Eyring and President Nelson's talk meant the most to me. I'll definitely be going back to re-listen thanks to media!
ReplyDeleteI also wrote my blog post on conference this week! It was so great to be able to listen to so many uplifting messages. I want to go back and study the talk you mentioned! Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I also watched General Conference and it was amazing! I was just talking to someone about emotions, and it is a very touchy and complicated subject at times. I bet learning from the church leaders would help many people a ton and we should feel more comfortable talking about our emotions with others. I feel like that would always help!
