I loved yesterday's lecture on International media! When I went to the International Cinema, I saw a Korean horror film called A Tale of Two Sisters. It was interesting to see the differences between this film and American horror films--like was mentioned in class yesterday, violence was portrayed very differently in this movie. There really wasn't much violence portrayed on screen at all, and a lot of the suspense actual came from family and relationship drama, which I haven't seen as much in American horror movies. Altogether, I'm not a huge fan of horror movies, but this one was really interesting, because it was more psychological and had more to think about than a slasher film like Friday the 13th.
That's awesome! I have never seen a Korean horror film, I'll have to watch one sometime!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I think it's so cool how different cultures make the same "type" of movie in such a different way. I'll have to check one out because I think I would like that!!
